From the spring of 2002 to the fall of 2005, we purchased over 400 females from Connealy Angus in Whitman, Nebraska. We used these powerful females to form our base cow herd. From the beginning, we bred these cows to breed leading A.I. sires and culled them heavily for the same productive traits valued by today's commercial cattleman. As of summer 2009 we have around 150 remaining Connealy females, as well as 150 daughters of those cows in production. While we have culled heavily for productive traits such as ability to breed back and progenys' weaning and yearling weight, we have also maintained above breed average carcass merit in our herd.
